THE PLAINTIVE CRY OF A COUNTRY IN PAIN
Sometimes, the night brings forth laughter and joy,
but for the lone wolf usually not.
Sometimes, the night brings forth laughter and joy,
but for the lone wolf usually not.
So, what DOES that wolf think about out there in the cold and dark of night? What goes through his sensitive brain? In the rain and the darkness?
As he cries do the howls of his baying reveal instead a secret desire?
For a mate?
Does he hate being alone? Does he wonder as humans often do...
what is my fate? My destiny?
We may well never know for sure, but I sense that he
like other species are NOT that different from human beings. We all of us have primal instincts, needs, fears, and desires. Fires of need for companionship RAGE inside ALL creatures for none of us are meant to be alone, solitary creatures.
Listen! Listen to the howl of a wounded heart.
Listen softly as his plaintive cry YEARNS through the night. LISTEN to a heart much like yours which
ONLY WANTS to be touched, cared about, listened to and heard.
LOVED.
Perhaps in truth we aren't really so different after all.
A COUNTRY WOUNDED
It has been said that the reason for the
emergence of the T-Party Republicans
is this: Republican strategist (aka ALL MOUTH NO ETHICS) Karl Rove sensed a need within the ranks of SOME Republicans to fill a void that the mainstream Republican party was not filling. This void was at the core of a bunch of mostly rural, mostly southern (but not exclusively) people who had become in their minds marginalized. Left out in the political cold to fester and stew
and eventually to become pretty alienated.
They felt that their ideas were not being listened to nor cared about and that the BIG CITY districts had a clear majority and a clear voice that was being listened to and for the most part they were right. Of course the answer to this is to become engaged and work WITHIN THE SYSTEM to change what isn't working for you...NOT try to take over and force your will down everyone else's throat, which is precisely what has happened.
Their way of life was being marginalized,
they felt, and there was and still is some justification for their feeling the way they did and do. It is true that the major city and urban area districts including the suburbs WERE ruling the roost if you will.
So you had a core constituency of people who felt left out and who resented it DEEPLY. Nobody cared what they thought, their representatives were hopelessly outgunned by the likes of Detroit, New York, Columbus...and Washington.
This core of people were as I said pretty much in rural districts and while they were in every part of the country they were particularly evident and increasingly noisy in the upper Midwest and the South. The Farm Belt...AND the Rust Belt where there was a large contingent of people who had lost their jobs due to American manufacturing gradually disappearing over the last few decades...and for most of these people they simply were not equipped for this new
Hi-Tech age.
(Of course, the reason for outsourcing was greed...by the heads of companies wanting more and more and more and most? Republicans. The new hallmark/standard of these Republicans is
'WE WANT MORE FOR US AND WE WANT YOU TO PAY FOR IT.'
So many of these once productive and proud people who were used to WORKING for a living were now NOT able to...and they HURT. Another bunch of sour grapes
worth plucking...
AND NOBODY SEEMED TO GIVE A SHIT.
UNTIL...UNTIL SUDDENLY SOMEONE DID.
Karl Rove was and is to political bullshittery including non-stop lies and deception what Sam Walton had been to rural retailing. Give them what they want and they will break down your doors to get it.
This was a ready-made audience for the likes of Dick Armey, Karl Rove, and at one time Tom Delay.These people had grown noisy, felt disaffected, and they were all pretty much already Republican. Now they had ears to listen to them AND SOMEONE WHO WOULD GLADLY TAKE ADVANTAGE of them politically and financially, for the likes of Karl Rove are NOT ideologues. They are political users, scammers, manipulators. They will be OH SO sincere about convincing you they believe in you and your cause when in truth the ONLY side they believe in is their own.
With the backing of Rove's buddies Charles and David Koch, supposedly grass-roots (but not really...more Astroturf) organizations like 'Americans For Prosperity'
began springing up and these groups SEEMED at least to be LISTENING finally to what this hard-core bunch of by now haters...were thinking, feeling, saying and the more that Rove and his allies were pitching and stirring and roiling these people into a frenzy, the madder and more hateful they got. AHA, now we got someone to listen and we are going to give him something to listen to...TRUE OR NOT, and he did and it was music to his heartless bastard ears.
In 2009, this bunch of converts to a dogma that was and is shared by virtually NOBODY outside their ranks began to be REALLY organized. We ALL saw the town-halls and the marches etc. Already psyched and then WHIPPED into a frenzy by speakers like Rove and Delay and many many others, this anti-abortion, anti-gay, anti-gun control, anti-choice, Anti-ACA, Anti-pretty much everything and anything that meant giving to their fellow Americans. Anti-Social Safety net programs like Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, Meals On Wheels, Head Start, school-lunch programs...etc. began to evolve (or perhaps devolve is a better term) into merely a band of HATERS, anti this and anti that and FOR......NOTHING.
YOU CANNOT GET these people to tell you what they are FOR, but BOY will they articulate what they are against. But in all their anti-rhetoric, they don't THINK. They do not THINK about the ramifications of what their actions would DO TO the United States. They want ALL GOVERNMENT GONE. But then what? You ask that and are met with silence or gobbledygook.
THEY ARE ONLY ANTI.
Lower or NO taxes, fine...
but what would you put in their place?
Nothing.
Little or no government, and again you are met with nothing concrete. These are NOT cogent sophisticated thinkers. I laugh at these Republican THINK TANKS like the Heritage Foundation and the Mackinac Center.
What are they thinking?
NOTHING evidently. They have NOTHING to show for all their hate and bigotry. EMPTY rhetoric. Period.
NO IDEAS.
How do you fund schools with no money? How do you provide roads and bridges and Water and sewer and fire and police...WITH NO GOVERNMENT AND NO TAXES?
They have NO answer...BECAUSE THERE ISN'T ONE.
AND YET, in 2014 as in 2012, these people, like rats escaping a flooding sewer, came out in DROVES to vote for these nuts. Big numbers of voters think what the T-Party stands for is just fine,
but WHAT IS IT THEY STAND FOR?
THIN AIR evidently. A country dissolved into chaos and anarchy because the vast majority of Americans
DO NOT WANT THIS. But the T-Party types do not give a shit what the country wants, they feel they have been denied long enough
and it is THEIR TURN.
ALL OR NOTHING ME ME ME ME ME ME.
Let's not forget. These people are also arming themselves to the TEETH. Teeth which are often dentures bought and paid for with TAXPAYER $$$...and I am convinced it is only a matter of time before this k
begins to boil.
BECAUSE you see these people are
]OH SO WILLING to TAKE the largess
from the Government. They just don't want
to have to PAY for it...and now for years
these mostly uneducated, unsophisticated, disengaged haters of the flame that burns inside most Americans have been lied to, corrupted, conned, and worse by the likes of the most control-FREAKY band of Scum politicians to ever grace an American political stage, and they BUY IT LOCK STOCK AND BARREL, like a buffet set in front of a bunch of people coming off a 6-week fast and Fox Noise is there to report on it with lies and deception which is all they know. Don't EVER think you will get facts, truth, or intelligent thought out of the biggest bunch of liars ever to call themselves Journalists.
THEY EAT IT UP, cause ALL THEY CARE ABOUT is this stuff they think they believe in (and many of them down deep really don't). If they THOUGHT about it (if they were CAPABLE of critical cogent thought), even THEY would realize it makes NO sense. This crap has also given rise to a bunch of disaffected control freaks, vain to their toes, who LOVE to hear themselves talk and talk they do to anyone who will listen...and what they say would be hilarious if not so tragically dangerous.
DANGEROUS, because now they have gained a distorted advantage politically,
WITH THE HELP OF THE DEMOCRATS
who have been TOO FRIGGING LAZY to get off their dead asses and go VOTE first in 2010 and then in 2014.
WHAT NEXT?
THE HORSE IS OUT OF THE BARN, BUT NO SADDLE...no nothing. Just running wild and doing untold damage to everything in its path in the process.

It's like watching rats discovering a new landfill
FULL OF GARBAGE...AND THEY WILL GORGE ON IT ALL UNTIL THEY DIE.
