So what do we know so far.
Well, we know that at least as early as the start of 2015, Russia was preparing to begin a process of trying to undermine our political process, obviously also to help Donald Trump to be elected President even well before he entered the Presidential race.
The preparations and early machinations we have only a sketchy view of so
far although I am sure Robert Mueller knows far more than is publicly known at this point.
But by early 2016, things had begun to accelerate, and of course
by June 9 the now infamous meeting between Donald Trump Jr, Jared Kushner, Paul Manafort, the Russian attorney, The Russian-American lobbyist, a translator and a supporting cast of thousands met ONE FLOOR BELOW Trump Sr's offices in Trump Tower in New York City.
Yes Trump was in his office that day and actually had lunch with Manafort not long before the meeting. We still have a very foggy picture of what actually transpired but drip by drip by drippy things keep emerging and we DO know that when the Russians exited that meeting they left a folder of information purported to be damaging to either Hillary Clinton or the DNC or both. What happened to that folder? We do not know yet.
Were Russian adoptions discussed AT ALL? We don't know. Was there much discussion of sanctions so troubling to Putin?
Again we don't know. Were there anymore
people especially Russians in attendance beyond those we know so far. There
seems to be indications that
yes there were. Maybe they should have hired Madison Square Garden.
What else?
We also know that even now, Trump The
Pres continues to defend and swoon over Putin in a way that is almost embarrassing. He REFUSES to call Vladimir out
on even the hacking and meddling during the campaign. WHY?
Trump has also continued to do whatever he
can to get the investigations stopped (but has only managed to make things worse and there to be even more investigations including the one by Mueller).
His firing of Sally Yates, the firing of James Comey, trying to dissuade Comey and Coates and NSA Director Admiral Michael Rogers and others to intervene or outright stop the investigations by the FBI and others. To no
avail of course.
He HAS succeeded in making himself look GUILTY AS SIN to even the most blind eyed of congressmen and most of the rest of us. WAY TO GO DONALD POO.
So what next? What is coming? What is it we still don't know? The answer is we don't know, we don't really know, and PLENTY, I surmise.
