ON THE SUBJECT OF BIGOTRY.
Then it grew to a be a broad series on Bigotry, Discrimination, and Hate...and here it is.
It starts now.

THIS is what happens when civil and human rights are ignored.
THIS is what happens when white bigots go to churches that teach that the lives of black people do not matter. CHURCHES. YES CHURCHES TEACH THAT... ESPECIALLY IN THE AMERICAN SOUTH. They ALSO preach and teach anti-muslim rhetoric.
They may try to shield the hardness of the message, but rarely do a good job of it.
THIS is ALSO what happens when Sunni and Shia Arabs decide the lives and the opinions of the others don't matter.
THIS could easily happen to you if some asshole and his pack of evildoer friends decide YOU don't matter. No one is immune when men try to decide for everyone else whose life matters and whose doesn't.
If you are Muslim this can be YOUR fate if some mis-guided bastard Christian decides YOU deserve the same fate. Is that YOUR idea of life?
Personally, I think ALL life is precious and needs to be protected. I may not always agree with you but who am I to say because of that, that you don't deserve to live, and yet THAT is EXACTLY what is going on here.
THIS is a hard subject to write about and it often reduces me to tears but I would be abdicating my responsibility as a human being and as a journalist if I didn't try. The images are GRAPHIC, but nothing less tells the story.

HATER TODAY...HATED TOMORROW
In America, bigotry is primarily practiced by white people (caucasians). White, southern rural males.
Bigots used to be known mostly as the Dixiecrats. Dixiecrats are Republicans now who used to be Democrats but when the Democratic stance on race softened, they fled in hate to the Republican party which HAD been the race tolerant party of Abraham Lincoln. No more.

Many of us had thought that all this was long since over UNTIL Barack Obama, himself 1/2 black, was first elected President in 2008. After he was inaugurated we saw the gloves come off of the hands of the race haters and race baiters.
NEITHER POLITICAL PARTY is free from guilt, shame, or blame. Bigotry is irrespective of party because it is a HUMAN FRAILITY and of MAN..men of both parties and from Arizona to Georgia to the Carolinas to Kentucky and Tennessee...Race hate was ONLY hibernating. But WTF does this say about us as People? As Human Beings?
It says our humanity is barely skin deep. Our tolerance is a sham and basically corroded. Thin skin deep..and it makes me shudder with sadness for ALL THOSE who have died at the hands of the likes of the KKK, and it saddens me for the lost lives for all eternity of all the murderers who have fallen prey to hate.
For GOD will NEVER condone any of this.
We have much to disagree about. Christians and Muslims. Buddhists, Jews, Shintoists. Athiests. People of different ethnic backgrounds and different cultures.

Hate gays, straights will be next. Hate women, men will be next in line. Hate blacks, whites are up next. Hate Muslims, Christians will die in turn.
Hate is a slippery-slope race to the pit stop of Hell and it is a race ONLY THE DEVIL wins.
WHY HATE? Men only hate what they fear and they only fear what they don't understand and they will remain ignorant and fearful for as long as we remain separate and distant.
You don't appreciate people nor respect them nor even understand them if you don't know them and you will never know them if you don't reach out and talk to them. You stand at the gate shaking in fear of people you don't even know...which makes NO sense whatsoever. If you don't talk to people you will never get to know them and the hate will fester because your IGNORANCE will too.
Makes NO sense.
I am doing everything I can to change things. Americans and Pakistanis and Iraqis and Afghans are all people...and valuable.
WE ARE.

We have much to disagree about. Christians and Muslims. Buddhists, Jews, Shintoists. Athiests. People of different ethnic backgrounds and different cultures.
But what is NOT in dispute is the shared atrocities that have been perpetrated by ALL these groups AGAINST OTHER PEOPLE. OTHER HUMAN BEINGS. We are ALL guilty. Every single last one of us.
WE NEED TO
STOP THE HATE.
STOP THE BIGOTRY!
No matter what it is. Skin, ethnicity, gender, orientation, religion. ALL of it. STOP.

YOU ONLY MAKE GOD WEEP!

ironically, most of the bigots are Christians or at least claim to be. Let's just say Churchgoers. Doesn't say much about the churches they attend or the pastors who preach hate, nor the religion that CLAIMS
to be borne of love...now does it?
