To my way of thinking, people like Karl Rove and his ilk are throwing slime at the entire foundation of this country. Smearing muck and sludge at the institutions of American government and as a consequence...he is raising his middle finger at the American people, at least most of them.
He CLAIMS to know what the American people want
but in truth he DOES NOT.
Over 80% of them disagree with him wholeheartedly...and HE DOES NOT CARE.
Just bulls on as if he has a mandate. NOPE. He is playing to and pandering to a Republican party base that is a very small minority of the American electorate, but they are vocal and in opposition to everything the rest of us hold dear...and thanks to the laziness and disengagement of the majority they have gained a lot of political clout since 2010 far beyond what their numbers would indicate they should have. Rove is the worst kind of opportunist...playing to fear and hate.
Karl Rove thinks WE THE PEOPLE (the majority of us) are ignorant slimebuckets who do not know any better.
He is condescending and mean-spirited to say the least.
He doesn't love this country. He loves himself and $$$ and power. PERIOD. He craves adulation and blind obedience to HIS ideology and that of his like-minded peers. He makes a mockery of the American way and when you denigrate as he does not just the office holder but the very office of the Presidency and all who reside in the Oval Office that are not Republicans, you denigrate the very fundamentals and principles that constitute the framework of not only our democratic form of government but the entire society at large as well...and you are treading oh so deliberately down a VERY slippery slope known as the end of America as we know it, aka crash and burn.
The so-called ultra-conservative T-Party Grass Roots movements foisted upon us by the contrivers of political thievery like Rove's (& the Koch Bros) Americans For Prosperity are chipping away NOT just at President Barack Obama. They would have done the same thing to Hillary Clinton, rest assured. It is not that he is black (for most) or that she is a woman (gasp), but they are both Democrats and for Republicans that is what it is all about. DEMEAN, DENIGRATE, RUIN, DESTROY...ANYTHING that is not Republican. ANYTHING that is not to their liking is beneath contempt. Republicans are REALLY GOOD at contempt.
TODAY ruin, disparage, denigrate. TOMORROW, KILL? That may not be as far-fetched a notion as it might seem. I am hardly convinced by what I see from them that they are above that. Going off the rails can indeed be just that. Look at Jonestown. From minister to cultmeister to mass murderer. Hate and fear mixed with absolute power and control makes for a nasty mixture.
OUR FOUNDERS PUT CHECKS & BALANCES INTO OUR POLITICAL PROCESSES FOR A GOOD REASON. Course the Republicans don't like checks and balances. Ruins their game plan. Like Fox News fair and balanced?
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA, gimme a break.
TO THE REPUBLICANS, it has become NOT what is good for America. They really don't care about that. It IS what is in their minds good for THEM. It is NOT about ideology, they really don't have one. Not about ideas, they lack those and they PROVE IT by not ever coming up with viable sound legislation promoting a 'better point of view, a better doctrine' than the Democrats. They simply evade, lie, and obstruct. They make lame excuses and allude to their GRAND PLANS which you will notice never materialize.
THIS IS TRULY ALL THEY KNOW.
HATE, LIES, EVASION, OBSTRUCTION.
THEY HAVE NOTHING ELSE TO OFFER.
Yet way too many Americans think this is just ducky.
I don't like to eat Duck and I sure don't want them
for my leaders.
The above is their mantra and their creed. Government run by empty suits so it certainly fails. Give the tasks to the private sector cause of course they are OH SO GOOD at being benelovent and competent.
WHATEVER THE REPUBLICANS MAY OR MAY NOT BE, THEY ARE CERTAINLY NOT good at governing. GOD KNOWS they aren't and they don't. They SIT. ..and don't even seem to be aware of how abysmally awful they are at it. Like John Boehner and Mitch McConnell. They talk and talk and DO NOTHING. McConnell in THIRTY YEARS has never authored EVEN ONE major piece of legislation. THIS is NOT the party of true leaders like Abraham Lincoln and Theodore Roosevelt. The GRAND OLD PARTY of people like them doesn't exist any more.
It has devolved into a bloodthirsty, bloodlusting
WIN AT ANY COST party of lies and deception and anything else they have to do to WIN. PERIOD, and the lengths these bastards will go to to WIN?
TRULY FRIGHTENING.
What ARE the limits of their frequently lawless behavior? Videos of the Michigan, Ohio, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania and Oklahoma legislative sessions among others PROVES they don't have much association with the concept of TRUTH. OR fair play. OR INTEGRITY. These videos are mind-boggling in their BLATANT disregard for American principles. Politics has always been a bit shady but the REPUBLICANS? New DEPTHS of depraved rhetoric and actions and at the State level, it is getting worse. Much worse. WE THE PEOPLE, seem sadly enough, to be willing to give these cretins the sniper rifles and ammunition they will use to eventually KILL American democracy.
WINNING for them is EVERYTHING. Governing is irrelevant. WINNING ELECTIONS is enough.
WINNING FOR THE SAKE OF WINNING and if they don't know what to do when they do? Hell. ALL THEY EVER INTENDED to do was win and then drown in the septic tank all the campaign promises they made during the campaigns. They were never anything more than worthless steamy piles of bullshit anyway.
ACCUMULATING POWER TO EVENTUALLY DO
GOD KNOWS WHAT IS ENOUGH.
IF they have NO clue what to do with the power they amass, so what? They are unprincipled enough and anti-American enough to NOT WANT government to succeed anyway.
AT ANYTHING.
Doing what is right for America hardly seems to EVER cross their conciousness. Never occurs to them, except as the aforementioned campaign promises...throw-away as they are. Slogans, rhetoric, and lies for the camera but not for governing.
It IS true that a lot of this IS traditional Republicans dogma, but Republicans have not always been this strident and over the top as the T-Party wing is now... but it's true that this coarseness and abject immorality in their newest version of politics as usual was ushered in by the late President Ronald Reagan and HIS minions and advisors around 1980 and has remained long after he left office.
It is of course NOT ONLY the Republicans. There are plenty of sold-out and corrupt Democrats in attendance to round out the blasphemy being perpetrated against our country and its people. Sitting on their collective asses soaking up the financial largesse of our American stupidity. They make damn near $300,000 a year and do LITTLE OR NOTHING to earn even a penny of it.
No it is not just the Republicans but it is THEY who coarsened our political discourse and made a mockery of the entire process far more than the Democrats. The Democrats are often just klutzy, gutless, timid and spineless. BUT THE REPUBLICANS are crafty experts at obfuscation and destruction mongerers of our Constitution and The Bill Of Rights. For as much as they talk about these, flag and country and apple pie issues, and AMERICAN VALUES...they don't actually like them. In fact they seem to hate anything that smacks of equality, true freedom for all, and principles.
But are they the real culprits here? The true root cause?
No or at least only partly. There are actually TWO culprits at work here along with our politicians.
#1. The Elitists/Oligarchs who are now OUT OF THE CLOSET and making no secret of the fact they want to and intend to (and feel they CAN) take over and control America and everyone in it for their own selfish purposes and if you think your votes don't count now?
Let them gain absolute control and if you are still able to vote, it won't mean a snowball's chances in HELL of meaning ANYTHING. Their version of democracy will make Fidel Castro's and Adolph Hitler's versions look ABSOLUTELY PERFECT by comparison.
#2. The People of America. Yup. We used to actually have our beloved HAHAHA elected officials
(elected is an increasingly more and more antiquated term referring to a period when the American people actually could vote and make a difference). There was equality in our voting laws. BLACKS WHITES YOU NAME IT. All could vote and in ways that allowed the democratic process to play out successfully if not messily. People could vote for the candidates and issues they wished to WITHOUT MUCH INTERFERENCE from the likes of the political scammers like Rove. For most of that time you did NOT have the Fucks Noise propaganda machine churning out lies and distortions. Not that the beltway and mainstream media was always perfect. Sadly now even they have become part of the problem instead of the solution.
NO MORE EQUALITY AND UNFETTERED VOTING RIGHTS. The Republicans are doing everything they can to taint and distort the process of voting, restricting access to ANYONE but their friends, allies, and cronies.
THIS IS BIG BROTHER GOVERNMENT AT ITS WORST.
In short, the Republican party wants the American electorate stupid and manageable, such as seen in any Banana Republic ever created. This seems to be what they ultimately want.
HAITI ON STEROIDS. NO?
LOOK AT THE LIKES OF GOV WALKER OF WISCONSIN. LOOK AT THE CUTS IN EDUCATION FUNDING and then tell me they don't want the American school system to fail and our people uneducated and ignorant.
IGNORANT PEOPLE ARE EASIER TO CONTROL, MANIPULATE. MAKE THEM LIKE SHEEP AND...
YES.
THEY WANT TO CONTROL AMERICA, FOR GAIN.
FOR THEIR PALS.
FOR EVERYONE BUT...
the American people...who btw are letting this happen without question and will rue the day eventually, maybe.
Maybe the Republicans have something. Maybe WE ARE too stupid to be left unsupervised by the likes of Charles and David Koch et al.
